Sprite was developed Fanta Klare Zitrone in West Germany in 1959. It is believed that sprite was manufactured as Coca Cola’s response to the popularity of 7UP owned by PepsiCo and Dr. Pepper Snapple group.
Sprite, a lemon-line beverage was introduced by Coca Cola on February 1st, 1961. Now it’s become world’s leading flavored soft-drinks in category of lemon. It is sold more than in 190 countries worldwide and believed to be ranked no 3 of the most consumed soda in the world as of 2019.
The target consumer is the young people and they enjoy because it tasted crisp and clean. It’s really quenching the thirst.
In the 1990’s, Sprite launched the ‘Jooky’ ad campaign, which poked fun at other soft drinks and their lack of authenticity.
By 2008, Sprite becomes the third Company product to sell more than 2 billion cases annually, joining Coca‑Cola and Diet Coke/Coca‑Cola light.
